With his major label debut, Oxymoron, Los Angeles rapper Schoolboy Q paints a bleak and relentless portrait of an artist on the come up. As a product of the same TDE camp that birthed Kendrick Lamar, Q has built a rep as a purveyor of aggressive and craft-oriented hip-hop while also maintaining a humorous streak. Google Play recently sat down with him, as well as his crew, to talk about the making and meaning of Oxymoron.

DJ Cash Money-Interview w/ Rob Swift *Video

Rob sais:

So yo, earlier this afternoon, my students were blessed by the omnipresence of one man yo! The ONLY man to unify both the World DMC Title and the original New Music Seminar Battle for World Supremacy. Thus making the most honorable human being I’m talkin’ bout in this hear youtube video somewhat BEYOND human. At least as the existing subject relates to all things DJing. To say he’s a SUPREME talent would be an understatement man. Understand this yo! Dude at the nucleus of this here post concocted a DJ style that is entering it’s third decade. Some of y’all reading this are barely 30 years old, chew on that for a second.

For 25 minutes and 58 seconds my class (myself included) basked in the glory of a single individual. The person, the man, THE DJ at the focal point of today’s New School at Scratch DJ Academy post is none other than Cash Money.
